Kate of Tall Tales of Chiconia invites us to share our scrappy creations once a month for a meme she calls scrap-happy. I’m sharing three cards this month.
Imagine my delight when planning a baby shower card, reluctant to trot out the twentieth-century culture trope of pink or blue, to see this delightful, digital invitation.

Cuties are small mandarin fruit, and the oft-used descriptor of adorable babies and, stating the obvious here, they’re orange.
A few years ago, I bought a paper pack with 6 x 6 inch sheets of fruit-themed paper. I have a few odds and ends left, plenty to make this card,

and I found the perfect gift bag to go with it. It’s fun when things come together like that.

The other two cards used up the last of my beloved beehive paper and three rub-on bee transfers.

The cutie card is very – cute! And I am partial to bees, so they appeal to me to – scraps into keepsakes, I love it!

I learned two things from this – that cuties are small citrus fruit and that the word often refers to babies! I had heard cutie pie before but not cutie on its own. And the cards are great!

love the card for the baby shower, and totally agree: pink & blue are too traditional

That baby shower card really is lovely, and the matching bag was serendipity! The bee hive paper is very effective with the cute bee motifs you used too. 😃

How perfect to coordinate with the cutie bag. Do you emboss (not sure if that’s the right term in paperarts… impress? indent?) around the edge of your cards? How is that done?

Hello Wizzy. Thank you for asking. Embossing is the term used, but impression or indentions are accurate as well. I use dies and a die-cutter to cut borders and shapes, and I use the same die-cutter with emobssing folders to create texture. Let me find a vidoe and I’ll send as a seperate comment.

Oh! Look at that! Thanks so much for the link. I have a different paper cutting system that doesn’t use dies, so had absolutely no clue how this was done. And now I know – thank you!!!

Wizzy, what kind of crafting do you do? I clicked on your URL but it says your blog is private.

Oh no. Sorry for the confusion. My public hobby blog is: https://whoopsadaisydollhouse.wordpress.com
Are private blogs listed publicly?! 🙄 Mine are just old diaries for home maintenance etc.
I try all kinds of crafts so long as the project is for my dollhouses – textiles, clays/resins, woodwork, 3d design/printing, paperarts like mini bookmaking. Just whatever intrigues/pleases me. I’ve been reticent in recent years about sharing online- trying to improve that now with the blog.

I’m always happy to get acquainted with fellow crafters. I’ll go take a look at whoopsadaisy. That’s fun.
I’ll take a screenshot of what I saw when I clicked your link. We’re all wise to be cautious witht he internet.
