The 15th of the month arrived in a flash. I hate to miss one of Kate’s ScrapHappy posts, so I pulled some paper scraps and made a pair of cards.

I used my Silhouette Cameo die-cutting machine to cut the circles. It feels like a touch of magic when you fold the edges of the circle into a V, showing the reverse side of the paper. I alternated the pattern to show off both sides of the print.

It will surprise no one that I have lots of floral paper in my stash. It’s what I’m drawn to again and again. The last two pics are closeups of the paper quilt. I used white water-color paper, but for some reason it looks blue in these shots.

That’s my small contribution this month. Please click the links below to see what other makers are up to. Thanks as always, Kate.

These are gorgeous Alys, the 3D effect ones are very expensive to buy in the shops and, mostly, I imagine they are somehow mass produced rather than painstakingly hand made as yours are.

Thank you, Lynn. They’re fun to make, and a great use of scraps. Like everything, the price of cards has really gone up. It’s nice to make my own, though I imagine if I added up my various trips to the paper store, tools, etc. I would be horrified. 🤣

Right? I love “It’s amazing what you can create with eight circles.” And scraps! There’s a lesson there.

Very, very pretty, rather like the ‘cathedral windows’ quilt block using a small segment of the edge of a circle. I love the dimensional effect and your choice of blending colours.

Thank you, Kate! You won’t believe this, but I just looked up ‘cathedral window’ quilts and I spotted this coat. Look at the price! https://www.etsy.com/listing/1243527314/large-pristine-cathedral-window-coat?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_ps-a-clothing-womens_clothing-jackets_and_coats&utm_custom1=_k_Cj0KCQjwzdOlBhCNARIsAPMwjbxsoMp96T_rY-mADLWN4iBK_1nZbEQaOxElGdDdkfH99amAbUsoXTYaAhWEEALw_wcB_k_&utm_content=go_12565613978_118771195119_507187387104_pla-299201693990_c__1243527314_139093041&utm_custom2=12565613978&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzdOlBhCNARIsAPMwjbxsoMp96T_rY-mADLWN4iBK_1nZbEQaOxElGdDdkfH99amAbUsoXTYaAhWEEALw_wcB

I’m stunned… for several reasons. Mainly the price, but also the chopping up of what must have been a beautiful quilt, and lastly because of how heavy this garment must be, because each of those ‘windows’ is made of three layers of fabric. It would be like wearing several wool blankets.

All excellent points, Kate. It must weigh a ton.

I remember it because it’s usually in my line of sight. I’ve kept all the cards you made. I’ll try to remember to take a photo of it and send it to you.
