Loving Our Planet

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”

~Native Proverb

I’ve always liked this quote, and as we honor Earth Day, it continues to resonate. 

I’m grateful to live in a state with strong environmental laws, beautiful lakes and streams, access to clean drinking water, and a commitment to combating the climate crisis. I hope we’re not too late.

  3. Absolutely beautiful! For some reason, your photos moved me to tears, and Woody Guthrie’s This Land is Your Land came to mind. (I’m listening to it right now.) The humble and the grand come to together to make our magnificent planet.

    • Thank you, Laurie. I’m glad these photos moved you. I’ve taken them over many years and as I searched my photo folder, I enjoyed the memories and the beauty.

      Climate change is here, and you and I feel the potential and actual loss of nature’s beauty. It touches our heart.

      Now I’m off to listen to This Land is Your Land, I song I once belted out while swinging in a park. Thank you for that.

  8. it is a beautiful state. Many years ago, when the boys were young, we sailed from B.C. down the coast and spent time with sailing friends along the way. We loved the sea lions and the coastal waterways.

  9. I just got back from Portland and the green there did my heart so good. I hated to leave but not mentioning in my posts. I didn’t want my sister try to make the trip. She shouldn’t be driving and can’t afford it anyway. The things we do to protect those we love. Their spring and ours is so different. We are having water issues here with the AI plants in the valley now. No one is thinking of the long game.
