I’m a day late for the monthly scrap-happy share, but I’m popping in any way to say, “cheers.”

If you’ve been following here for a while, you’ll recognize another page from my 2022 Bees & Honey wall calendar. The beautiful images feature in several scrappy projects. I used the heavier-weight cover paper to make eight wine glass tags.
The process is simple: I cut 2.5-inch circles from the calendar images, then cut a smaller circle from the center to go around the stem. Cut an opening along one side, and you’re good to go.

I made eight tags, including one that said “bee,” but I didn’t think it through. When I removed the inner circle, it said BS instead. Whoops. I cut one more, to make a G-rated set, though most of our friends would get a laugh out of the BS story.

Cheers!

That is a fun way to use an old calendar. I have a hard time getting rid of old calendars but never get around to making use of them. They are just too beautiful to not use somehow. You always come up with the best ideas.

Thank you, Marlene. I know you’re actively crafting with some of the seniors in your community. Perhaps you could haul out the calendars and together make ornaments, bookmarks, gift tags or other useful items to exchange or to hang on your community tree. Wouldn’t that be fun?

It would be fun. I’ll see what we can come up with on that front. Been thinking about you ALL day!

We will be in Italy for both our anniversary and my next birthday which are only ten days apart. Pretty cool, eh?

I’m not a scrapper, at least not in the artsy-
crafts way 😉, and I’m always amazed at how you cleverly repurpose, in a most unique way! Luv it, my friend.

It’s a beautiful and clever idea – not that most of my friends let a wine glass out of their hands long enough for it to get confused with someone else’s!

A nice idea Alys – not BS at all.

What a fun and easy paper craft, Alys. I am always discarding charming calendars or similar items with no alternative in mind. Now I will rethink that habit! And thanks for all the wonderful links to other crafters. I’m eager to visit each one!

Thank you, Debra. I enjoy seeing what the other scrap happy bloggers are up to. It’s an eclectic crowd. I’ve used old calendars for many things over the years. Most of the time, the art or photography are stunning. I make the pages into bookmarks, cards, gift tags, gift wrap, and once I made a gift-card holder. I had three of my 2022 calendar pages framed for the yellow room, and I self-framed one more for the laundry area. It’s fun to think of something new and different.

Clever idea Alys. I always feel bad tossing beautiful calendars and cards but can’t hold on to everything. Have a good weekend.

You are so right about hanging on to things. I applaud you for letting them go. I save what I think I’ll use and nothing more. I’m a minimalist at heart and an organizer by trade, so I live by William Morris’ quote:
“Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
