Our time in New Zealand has drawn to a close, but the memories of this extraordinary trip live on. As Pauline notes “we never know what might happen when we start to blog.”

I know many of you have followed along with my recent adventures courtesy of those more organised bloggers, Laurie over at Life on The Bike and Alys at Gardening Nirvana who put up posts of such loveliness all I could do was hit the ‘Re-Blog’ button and call it done.
We had talked about a reunion ever since our first meet up in 2015 and seriously planned this adventure for a year. It seemed a comfortable way off, but fortunately, at the six month mark I had chosen the holiday stay venue, booked the house and settled in to start making ‘welcome to New Zealand gifts’. Two months later of course various accidents pulled me up short and curtailed my arty crafty activities and then time curled itself into a ball and hurtled past me into the future.
And suddenly there I was standing early one evening at an airport…

Isn’t that a delight? And guess what: Petals and I had no idea they were dancing behind us as we washed the dishes. That made it doubly fun. They’re too wonderfully fun and kind women.

What fun it has been to follow along on this amazing adventure, Alys! Pauline captured the joys of this special gathering so beautifully in her post. I’m so happy that Mike was able to join in the fun, too! It must all feel like a lovely dream-come-true as you all reflect and remember. Savor every moment until you are all together again!

Thank you Dawn! The first time we all met up in DC has a definite dream quality to it, for me anyway. This second time feels more real – maybe the third time we’ll be all ‘Ho-hum!’ 😀

Thank you, Dawn. It really was a dream come true; so special in every way. It was great fun that Mike could join us for week two. He also connected with Steven who enjoys biking and short wave radio. Mike got to hang out with him and enjoyed his temporary short wave set up in the garage. He also rode with him on our last day there. Honestly, there was something for everyone. I’m still on a cloud, reliving part of it every day.
