Sure, sure, I know a couple of things about potting plants, but no one would ever call me an expert. I’ve had my hands in the dirt since I was two, but there is always more to learn.
So imagine my delight when Brooke Magliozzi of Wayfair got in touch and asked me to answer a few questions for a blog post on planter types. The post features about a dozen garden bloggers who describe their favorite type of planter, and offer personal tips on choosing the right planter for your home.

What a clever idea, Alys — I love it! Congratulations on having your planter featured. I suspect a lot of gardeners across the U.S. will soon be shopping for tiered pots (myself included :).

I remember that lovely idea, the touch of gold is so clever! It has weathered well too. Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when someone asks you to contribute – it’s kind of a validation of all your work. I really need to adapt this idea for my tiny courtyard – where going up is necessary 🙂

It is validating somehow when someone else shares our ideas. You are so right. And yes to vertical gardening. I’ll have to find a photo of my Campbell apartment garden. I had a narrow walkway and a fence and stashed everything in pots and baskets on the walkway, around the walkway and up the fence. It was fun!
