Bloggers: The Most Incredible Gathering of Friends!

I’ve descended on D.C. and wish you were all here to share in this extraordinary experience. I feel like I’m in a cocoon, wrapped in the joy of spending time with fellow bloggers from around the world. We’ve been hosted by Julia of Defeat Despair, Shelly of Peak Perspective and Laurie of Life on the Bike. Here is a virtual postcard of sorts, shared via Laurie. xox

Life on the Bike and other Fab Things

We’ve all said it, and many of you have as well.

WordPress Blogging has become so much more than we ever thought it would be.  What started out as travel diary, forum for writing, sharing of photography, enlightenment about art, gardening, or crafting, or keeping up with family has become a community of international friends.

Over the last several days, 8 WP bloggers from 3 countries and 2 states, have met in various locations to continue in person, the relationships that have been forged through the world of blogging.

We marveled that while most of us had never met each other, we talked and laughed as if we’d known each other for years.

Which, of course, we had.

  2. I can’t access all the post at the moment – relying on a very weak data signal in the middle of the countryside – but it seems like you are having a wonderful experience. How great that blogging has led to these travels 🙂

  3. Good Morning Alys! I’m thinking you are all getting to the plane or on the plane. I should try to find that document you made that I clearly did not read closely! I even printed it off 🙂
Anyway, safe travels to you and Pauline. I hope the flight goes smoothly.
    Love you much!!

    • Hi Laurie, I’m behind as you can see, but gradually working my way down the comments list. So nice to see you here.

The flights home went smoothly with nothing interesting to share. Phewww! It was great having those extra hours with Pauline on the plane. Poor K. got up in the middle of the night for her flight home. I think I gave her a hug with my eyes still closed. I can’t wait to read and hear more about life, the campaign, your new deck. It all seems so much richer now that we’ve met and shared time together. xox

  4. It was an unbelievable gift to get the tiniest slice of friendship pie from you and Laurie, Kelly and Pauline. What a girl gang you’ve got goin’ on there and it felt truly exceptional to be joining that circle for the precious time we were given.
I hope your travels back are safe, that the rest of the trip was filled with more marvelous memories than you’ve had hot dinners and that everyone will seriously consider doing this again. I will remember our time with great joy and look forward to the next one, Alys, because there most definitely will be a next one. Who would not want to replicate something so brilliant as often as possible?

  5. Alys, I can’t even imagine how you “recover” from a trip like this one. I mean, even for me, experiencing just for a lunch time the joy of being a part of such a special friend group of bloggers was such an incredible high, it was difficult to focus on the tasks at hand that awaited me once I left. Thank you for welcoming me so openly. The laughter, the stories, the love that radiated around the table was truly remarkable. I was just so disappointed I couldn’t experience it again when you, Boomdee, Pauline, and Lisa returned to DC.

I’m so glad you’re home safe and sound and I’m delighted to now have a special new blogging friend to get to know even better ❤️
